About this idea

Your elf is headlining a rock concert performing Baby Shark! Set up a small 'stage' using a box or book. Position elf with toy guitar or microphone (use a marker). Create a mini audience with stuffed animals sitting in rows. Add paper 'glow sticks' (rolled colored paper) in the audience's hands. Hang string lights or flashlight for stage lighting. Include a setlist sign: 'Tonight: Baby Shark, Cocomelon Hits, Wheels on the Bus'.

What you'll need

  • Small box or thick book
  • Toy guitar or marker
  • Stuffed animals
  • Colored paper (for glow sticks)
  • String lights or flashlight

How to set it up

  1. Create a small stage by placing the box or book horizontally on a surface.
  2. Position the elf on the stage with the toy guitar or marker as a microphone in its hands.
  3. Arrange stuffed animals in rows in front of the stage as the mini audience.
  4. Roll up strips of colored paper and place them in the hands of the stuffed animals to look like glow sticks.
  5. Add string lights or shine a flashlight on the stage to simulate concert lighting, and place a sign nearby that reads: 'Tonight: Baby Shark, Cocomelon Hits, Wheels on the Bus.'

Tips & variations

  • Use different colored papers for variety in the audience's 'glow sticks'.
  • If you don’t have string lights, a flashlight works great for quick stage lighting.
  • Let your preschoolers help arrange the stuffed animals and paper glow sticks for extra fun and involvement.
