About this idea

The elf creates a 'dance party' using bubble wrap taped to the floor with toy figures or small stuffed animals 'dancing' on it. Add a note: 'I made a POP party! Step on it and dance with me!' Preschoolers will love stomping on the bubble wrap to make it pop while pretending to dance with the elf.

What you'll need

  • Bubble wrap
  • Tape or sticky-backed tin foil
  • Small toy figures or stuffed animals
  • A small piece of paper and pen for the note

How to set it up

  1. Cut or tear a large piece of bubble wrap and tape it securely to a flat floor area where children can safely step on it.
  2. Place the small toy figures or stuffed animals on top of the bubble wrap in a playful arrangement, as if they are dancing.
  3. Write the note: 'I made a POP party! Step on it and dance with me!' and place it near the bubble wrap setup so children see it when they approach.

Tips & variations

  • Use a non-slip surface or add non-slip tape to the bubble wrap to keep it from moving around too much during play.
  • For added fun, you can create a small 'dance floor' outline with additional bubble wrap pieces or draw simple dance steps on paper nearby.
  • Supervise younger preschoolers to ensure they understand not to step on the elf or any fragile items nearby.
