About this idea

The elf has 'done' the child's homework but gotten all the answers hilariously wrong on purpose (2+2=Fish, the capital of France is Pizza Town, etc.). Leave a red marker nearby with silly corrections and a note: 'Homework is HARD! Can you fix my mistakes before school?' Kids will laugh at the absurd answers.

What you'll need

  • Red marker
  • Child's homework paper
  • Pen or pencil
  • Funny wrong answers written in advance (optional printouts)

How to set it up

  1. Write absurd and funny wrong answers on the child's homework using the red marker (e.g., 2+2=Fish, capital of France is Pizza Town).
  2. Place the red marker next to the homework paper on the child's desk or nightstand.
  3. Leave a small note nearby that says: 'Homework is HARD! Can you fix my mistakes before school?'

Tips & variations

  • Prepare a few funny wrong answers in advance to make setup faster and more entertaining for the kids.
  • Encourage kids to come up with their own silly wrong answers after fixing the elf's mistakes for extra laughter and creativity.
  • If your child is very young, you can help them fix the elf's mistakes together as a fun morning activity.
