About this idea
The sneaky elf spent the night raiding the shoe basket and mixing up every single pair in the house! Find the elf sitting proudly in the middle of a jumbled pile of mismatched shoes, wearing two tiny different-colored doll shoes on its feet. Add a little sign that reads 'Try finding your pair NOW!' using a sticky note and marker. Uses only household shoes and a sticky note.
What you'll need
- Elf doll
- Sticky note
- Marker
- Shoe basket or collection of shoes from around the house
- Tiny doll shoes (optional for elf's feet)
How to set it up
- Gather all shoes from around the house and place them in a pile in a central, visible area like the living room or hallway.
- Position the elf doll right on top of the jumbled pile of shoes.
- Write 'Try finding your pair NOW!' on the sticky note with a marker and place it next to the elf or stick it to a nearby surface.
Tips & variations
- For extra challenge, mix up shoes between family members so everyone has to search for their own pair.
- Use this activity as a fun morning game for preschoolers to identify whose shoes belong to whom.
