About this idea
The elf has squeezed every toothpaste tube flat and replaced the contents with tiny Play-Doh logs stuffed into the openings — green, pink, and yellow. The elf sits beside the lineup of flattened tubes looking extremely pleased with itself, hands pressed together, surrounded by the leftover Play-Doh crumbles and squished blobs on the sink edge. No toothpaste was harmed — just one nearly-empty tube turned inside out as proof of effort.
What you'll need
- Play-Doh in green, pink, and yellow colors
- 3-5 small toothpaste tubes (empty or nearly empty)
- A small elf doll
- A spoon or small spatula
- A tray or sink edge for display
How to set it up
- Flatten the toothpaste tubes by gently pressing them from the middle to create a fun, squished shape.
- Roll small, thin logs of Play-Doh in green, pink, and yellow and carefully stuff one log into each opening of the flattened tubes.
- Place the elf doll beside the lineup of tubes with its hands pressed together in a pleased pose.
- Sprinkle some leftover Play-Doh crumbles and small blobs around the sink edge or tray to complete the ‘disaster’ scene.
Tips & variations
- Use empty or nearly-empty toothpaste tubes to avoid any mess and keep everything safe and easy to clean.
- For added fun, you can use different shaped Play-Doh logs or mix colors to make the scene more playful.
- This activity is great for preschoolers who can help roll the Play-Doh logs and watch the elf’s funny creation.
