About this idea
The elf has taped a printed 'screenshot' of a fake group chat to the bathroom mirror or fridge, starring the tween's name. The elf 'texted' something totally embarrassing like 'Anyone else think math is actually kinda fun? 🤓' and signed off as the tween. Use sticky notes to add fake reply bubbles from 'friends' reacting with pure chaos emojis. Made using only paper, tape, and a marker!
What you'll need
- Printer (or printed screenshot beforehand)
- Sticky notes
- Tape or glue stick
- Marker
- Bathroom mirror or fridge (as display surface)
How to set it up
- Print out a funny fake group chat screenshot that includes your child’s name and a silly message like “Anyone else think math is actually kinda fun? 🤓” signed by your child.
- Tape the printed screenshot to the bathroom mirror or fridge using tape or a glue stick.
- Use sticky notes to create reply bubbles from fictional friends, adding chaotic or funny reactions like “No way!! 😱”, “You’re banned!! 🙅♀️”, or “Math is for nerds!! 🤯” and tape them around the main message.
Tips & variations
- Let your preschooler help write the funny replies using simple emojis and short messages for added participation.
- For a reusable setup, use a magnetic whiteboard or a small portable board instead of tape.
- Adjust the humor level to suit your child’s age—keep it light and playful, avoiding any potentially sensitive topics.
