About this idea

The elf got into the Nutella jar and gave themselves (and maybe some toy friends or family photos) chocolate mustaches! Place the elf sitting next to an open Nutella jar with a spoon, and use a tiny bit of Nutella to create a mustache on the elf's face. You can also draw Nutella mustaches on toy figures nearby or place silly mustache drawings on family photos. Leave a note: 'Oops! The Nutella was too yummy to resist!'

What you'll need

  • Nutella jar (empty or nearly empty)
  • Spoon
  • Elf doll
  • Toy figures or printed family photos
  • Note card and pen

How to set it up

  1. Place the empty or nearly empty Nutella jar and spoon next to the elf doll on a flat surface.
  2. Gently apply a tiny amount of Nutella to the elf's face using the spoon to create a mustache shape.
  3. Arrange toy figures or printed family photos nearby and draw silly Nutella mustaches on them using a pen or marker.
  4. Write a playful note saying, 'Oops! The Nutella was too yummy to resist!' and place it next to the scene.

Tips & variations

  • Use a very small amount of Nutella to avoid messes and make cleanup easier.
  • For a safer alternative, use a Nutella-like drawing tool or chocolate syrup to mimic the effect without real Nutella.
  • Encourage kids to help draw mustaches on toys or photos for added fun and creativity.
