About this idea
Your elf got into the cereal and made a 'snow angel' in the spilled cereal! Lay the elf on its back in a pile of cereal (Cheerios or Rice Krispies work great) with arms and legs spread wide. Scatter cereal around to show the 'angel wings' pattern. Leave a tiny note: 'I thought this was snow! Oops!' Preschoolers will giggle at the silly mess.
